Carrollwood, Florida - Whole Foods Market stores in Tampa will host a Fourth of July Weekend fundraiser to commemorate the service and sacrifice of the men and women of the U.S. Military.
Both the Tampa and Carrollwood stores will host a Support Our Troops Cookout this Saturday, July 6 from noon - 2 p.m. During the cookout, customers can enjoy a hamburger, hotdog, vegetarian burger, choice of side and a drink for a donation of $5. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Operation Helping Hand.
The two store locations are as follows:
Since the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, the James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital has had a marked increase in the number of wounded and injured active duty members referred for treatment.?
The average stay for the injured is 45 days, and as you can imagine, the family members of the wounded want to be with their loved ones during this critical time of treatment.?
Many of the families travel from all over the country and must provide for themselves while staying here in the Tampa Bay area. Operation Helping Hand of Tampa has been organized to help the families of the wounded and injured during their stay in Tampa Bay.
