I have eight years experience of mostly lender work in FL and I am considering a move to LA. The states do not have reciprocity so a new CA will cost $ and take time. How long will it take for lenders to consider me geographically competent in my new area? I feel that with MLS access, many calls to other appraisers and Realtors, and driving around town I can be up to speed quickly but I wonder if some clients will require residency of a certain length of time before they will feel the same.
